Liverpool's first goal is in various LFC sources attributed to Morgan but is clearly an own goal by Langley. Liverpool Daily Post: "Morgan having lashed out at the leather and centred in front of Massey, when Langley in trying to clear kicked the ball into the net." Liverpool Mercury: "From a centre by Robertson, Morgan drove in and Langley, running across to clear sent the ball into the net, scoring the first goal for the Anfielders."
