- George Allan had to leave the field of play with an injury after only five minutes. But according to the Liverpool Mercury he was able to return to the pitch before play restarted after Johnny Walker's goal in the 21st minute. The Sheffield Evening Telegraph, however, indicates that Allan returned after Jack Cox's goal a minute earlier.
