Player Profile
Full-back Thomson was signed by Liverpool from Partick Thistle in December 1962 and made four League appearances for the club towards the end of the 1962/63 season filling in for Gerry Byrne. He was competing for a spot with the more experienced and established trio of Byrne, Ronnie Moran and Phil Ferns and eventually left Anfield for Luton in August 1965 after making only three appearances during the 1963/64 championship season. He made 74 League appearances for the Hatters in the Third and Fourth Division before moving to Australia.
