Player Profile

Dick White's understudy in the team who only got a look-in for one game. It was the only League match White missed during the whole 1959/60 campaign. Just as White's career was finishing, Ron Yeats arrived at Anfield and it was clear that Nicholson had no future with the club. He left for Port Vale in August 1961 and made roughly 200 appearances for the third division club before moving on again, this time to Doncaster Rovers. Nicholson sadly died on 3rd September 1966, having never regained consciousness following involvement in a head on collision with a lorry two days previously.
