Player Profile

A skilful forward who scored one goal every three games at Liverpool. Anderson signed in December 1951 when he was 20 years old. Anderson was given his debut on 28 March 1953 in a home fixture against Charlton Athletic but that was his only appearance of the 1952/53 season. He scored five times in 13 games the following season when Liverpool were relegated. Anderson established himself in the side in the Second Division, playing in 32 of the League fixtures and contributing a further ten goals. He appeared fairly regularly over the next season and a half before being replaced by the young Jimmy Melia. Anderson moved on to Barnsley in July 1957.
