Player Profile

A serious knee injury threatened to end Lindsay's career while at Partick Thistle. Lindsay moved to Wales to play with Rhyl Athletic and scored over 60 goals for the Welsh club in the 1927/28 season that alerted Liverpool to his talents. Lindsay played mostly as a left-half or an outside-left in the 16 appearances he made for Liverpool from 1928-1929. He scored his first goal at Burnden Park, Bolton in a fourth round FA Cup replay in January 1929 but Liverpool were eventually knocked out after extra-time by five goals to two. He also grabbed a couple of League goals; against West Ham at Anfield on 13 March 1929 and the same opposition when they played at Anfield the following season.
