Player Profile

Left-back Murray arrived from Everton for free after failing to impress in his one year at the Blues, making only two appearances. Twelve of his 15 League appearances for Liverpool came in the 1904/05 season, the year in which the Reds claimed the second division title after being relegated the year before. But Murray only played three more times the following season when Liverpool stormed to the title in the First Division. Murray joined Leeds City for £130 in December 1905, serving them with distinction for four years, having been made captain of the second division side in the 1906/07 campaign. Murray enlisted for the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders after the onset of World War I and died, aged just 32, in Loos, France, on 10 December 1915.
