- United defender Jack Fitchett did not appear at the start of the second half having injured an ankle in the first half. Although he eventually returned he was barely able to contribute to his team and had to leave the field again shortly after Sam Raybould had scored Liverpool's third goal. This time he did not return.
- Liverpool's Sam Raybould also failed to complete the match, leaving the field shortly after he had put his team 4-0 ahead with time running out. He was, however, fit enough to play against Burnley a week later in the final match of the season.
