Player Profile
The Bootle-born defender never played in a League game for Liverpool but deputised for injured Gary Gillespie in an FA Cup match at York City and in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final at QPR, during the 1985/86 season. After a brief loan spell with Norwich City from 21 November to 6 December 1986 where he played just three times in the League, Seagraves returned to Anfield but was eventually given a permanent transfer to Manchester City nine months later. Seagraves certainly enjoyed his time at Bolton where he played 157 League games from 1990-1995. At the end of his Bolton career he played against his old club, Liverpool, in the 1995 League Cup final, losing 2-1 to a double from Steve McManaman.
Eleven years later Seagraves was appointed coach at Premiership side Wigan Athletic where his old mate from Liverpool's youth team, Paul Jewell, was manager. When Jewell replaced Billy Davies at Derby County Seagraves followed in November 2007. Derby were relegated with only one win in the Premier League and at the end of 2008 Jewell resigned and Seagraves left his position as coach.
